I never considered lemon like it had a bunch of benefits, I would use it for lemonade every once and then, with my food and maybe in tea. But lemon water? Not really, I would prefer to drink my water plain. But recently I was introduced to the benefits of drinking lemon water by my coach at the gym. After that, I started doing some research and was amazed by all of its benefits. Here are the 5 main benefits of this miraculous water.

Lemon water helps with weight loss

Lemons contain pectin, a dietary fiber that restricts fat absorption in the body. In addition, pectin is healthy for the intestine as it suppresses harmful substances that irritate the intestine. Tip: If you drink a glass of lemon water before your meal, you will be fed up faster. The fiber swells up your gastrointestinal tract and provides a longer lasting saturation sensation.

It is a great weapon against colds

In addition to the weight loss effect, lemon water strengthens your immune system. The reason: lemons contain a lot of vitamin C, which is particularly important for strengthening the defenses. A glass of healing water, however, not only promotes your defenses but also prevents inflammation. Particularly practical: If you have an iron deficiency, you should take ferruginous foods with lemon water, as this supports the absorption of the mineral.

Fit brain and fit muscles

Lemons contain a lot of vitamins, minerals, trace elements and nutrients, which bring the brain on the road. For example, potassium and magnesium show positive effects on the health of the brain and nerves. Lemon water can give you mental clarity and focus – and is indispensable to people in stressful jobs. The minerals also help replenish the memory after exercise and prevent muscle soreness.

It reduces cancer risk

Lemon water reduces the risk of developing cancer. Why is it like that? Lemons, as already mentioned, contain a high proportion of important antioxidants that destroy harmful radicals in the body. This significantly reduces the risk of cancer. By the way, vitamin C is one of the most effective antioxidants.

You’ll get prettier skin

Lemons are rich in antioxidants that prevent free radical damage. Free radicals are the substances responsible for the premature aging of the skin. In addition, vitamin C helps to maintain skin elasticity, prevent wrinkles and reduce skin irritation. Warm lemon water also has astringent properties, which means that scars and pigmentary disturbances go back faster.

The best part is that these are just a few of the many other benefits of drinking lemon water. Drinking it will also help with digestion, cleanse your system, freshen your breath, reduce inflammation and the list continues. The recommended amount is half a lemon for a glass of water, use room temperature water or warm water.
